Fasting with Wisdom

From centralized dependence to decentralized independence — maximizing your freedom in all 19 areas of life.

Fasting is one of humanity's oldest practices — spiritual and physical. Time-restricted eating (eating within a daily window) and periodic fasting are studied for metabolic health. Traditions also warn against overdoing it: a medical Qi Gong teaching shared in Raven's notes cautions that very long fasting without care for the digestive tract and muscle can do harm, and that the body needs to be reminded how to digest wholesome food.

Talk with your practitioner first if you take medication (especially for diabetes or blood pressure), are pregnant or breastfeeding, are underweight, or have a history of eating disorders. Break fasts gently.
